Ignite 9 – Nov 7th 2014 – Call for Speakers

There comes a time every year when the cry goes out across the land: “All ye awesome people, distill your remarkable efforts down to 5 minutes of entertaining speech, and accompany it with 20 images that will auto-advance every 15 seconds.”

That time is now. That land is Ann Arbor. This .. is the Ignite Ann Arbor 9 Call for Speakers.

Ignite talks are 5 minute talks where the speaker gets 20 slides that auto-advance every 15 seconds. We think that breeds creativity, and we like to see talks on a very wide range of topics, as you can see by looking at some of the previous talks in the tabs above.

A very big thank you goes to the U of M Master of Entrepreneurship program for providing Blau Auditorium at Ross Business School as our venue!

Ignite Ann Arbor 9 will take place at 7pm on Friday November 7th.

YOU can give an Ignite talk. We know it. The program is selected from the applicants by the Ignite organizers based on the submitted talk titles and descriptions. We’re looking for people we don’t know, people who don’t look like us, don’t act like us, don’t think like us. We’re looking for you!

Need examples to spur you on? Click one of the Ignite tabs above to see videos from a previous event, such as Ignite 8.

Thanks to our Wonderful Sponsors!

We really appreciate your support! UM Center For Entrepreneurship has been a long time supporter. Duo Security is a local startup providing easy two-factor authentication as a service. The Michigan Masters of Entrepreneurship Program has generously provided Blau Auditorium for Ignite. Washtenaw Toastmasters provided speaking guidance and coaching at our run through sessions that was very helpful to our speakers!

Thanks!

Ignite Ann Arbor 7 Call for Speakers

Apply Now

Ignite Ann Arbor 7 will be held at Blau Auditorium, at 7pm on Thursday October 25th, 2012! We are excited to bring Ignite to Ann Arbor again and are eager to see what the community comes up with.

Ignite talks are 5 minute talks where the speaker gets 20 slides that auto-advance every 15 seconds. We think that breeds creativity, and we like to see talks on a very wide arrange of topics, as you can see by looking at some of the previous talks to the left.

If you are interested, please fill out our application! The deadline for applying is midnight on Sunday Sept 16th, 2012. We encourage you to talk about something you have experience with, something you’ve done, or something whimsical. Someone recently told me that a great talk caused them to rush home and look for more information. But your goal is also to entertain. There is still untrodden territory! After seeing some 85 talks in Ann Arbor so far, we have yet to have had an act of fiction, for instance.

Big thank you to the U of M Master of Entrepreneurship program for providing Blau Auditorium as our venue!
